What people are saying about Ait Benhaddou
Experience was great as well as our guide Mohamed. The only issue we faced was realated to the hotel. As per email and agreements we were expecting one hotel while, just before the check in, they informed us that it was fully booked, so they booked a different one ... that was crapy (seriously!) I refuse myself to stay there and the agency was lovely to find a different (and much better!) solution.
An amazing trip! Our driver was excellent, everything is well organized and the camp in the desert is comfortable and clean. The only thing we didn’t enjoy at all was the hotel where we slept the firs night. Rooms are very old and it was very cold. Don’t pay the supplement, rooms are all the same. Anyway, the whole experience is something to do once in life. When you see the sunset on the top of the dunes, you easily forget the horrible hotel in which you slept the night before!
Lanhar was an excellent guide: kind, thoughtful and informative. The colours of the stony desert were amazing; Ait Benhaddou is almost surreal. We saw how the 'bricks' were made and learned of the history of this place. We were given free time at Ouarzazate and I learned of its history. The road is treacherous and hence Lanhar's careful driving was a key element in the enjoyment of the day. Lanhar has a friendly but not intrusive disposition which makes him an ideal guide. He created a very easy atmosphere in the group. I had a great day. Thank you
Absolutely brilliant! It is a long journey from Marrakech so you have to be aware of this but there are plenty of rest stops. It was also cold at night (as expected during winter during the desert) but bearable and very impressed by the camp (very good set up). Dancing the night away with the Berber people around the fire with new friends I had made along the way was an experience not to be missed.
Great and exotic experience to see the desert. A long drive over the mountains but interesting to get to see the life in the desert towns and villages. Small multicultural group in mini buss and got a lot of new friends! Good guides and driver.
