Full description
Day 1: Visit the vineyards of the Clare Valley wine region then head into the rugged Outback through the historic town of Melrose, and settle in the heart of the Southern Flinders Ranges.

Day 2: Visit the underground Opal Mine and Museum and learn about the history of Coober Pedy – the Opal Capital of the World. Tonight, you'll sleep like the locals do – underground, in bunkhouse accommodation.

Day 3: driving up the Stuart Highway, watch the changing landscapes from Mulga woodlands, your mission today is to reach the majestic Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon) where you'll camp for the night. 

Day 4: Get up early to explore Watarrka (Kings Canyon), the massive sandstone walls, vast canyon floor, and stunning gorges. After lunch, begin your journey into Uluru (Ayers Rock), where you will be camping.

Day 5: You'll start the day at dawn by taking a (4-hour) hike to the majestic Valley of the Winds in Kata Tjuta(The Olgas). Later, relax back at your campground for a dip in the pool or join the skydiving.

Day 6: Walk around the base of Uluru. Hiking through the acacia woodlands and grassy clay pans, you’ll spot wildlife and learn more about the Aboriginal people, after lunch you'll hit the road to Alice Springs, arriving about 6:30 PM. 

This itinerary is also available from Alice Springs/Uluru to Adelaide. It is the same but in reverse.

Please note, during the summer months, from November to March, the return journey from Alice Springs to Adelaide will have a revised itinerary due to a heat management strategy. The first night will be spent at Yulara, the second night at Kings Creek Station, and the third night is at Kulgera, Erldunda or Bush Camp. The remainder of the itinerary remains the same from there on and no activities will be missed.
