3. Perth Segway 1.5 Hour Kings Park Tour

To begin, your experienced guide will ensure that you are confident and ready to ride your Segway. Outfitted with wireless headsets,every guest will hear commentary during the 90-minute tour. Travel up Mt Eliza from the city and enter Kings Park through leafy green, bush pathways leading into an avenue of trees bearing the names of Western Australia’s fallen soldiers. Suddenly you are surrounded by natural bushland with beautiful earthy smells and clean fresh air. Birds and animals abound as you cruise through secluded parts of the park. Almost as quickly, enter open parkland with vistas overlooking the picturesque Swan River and spend some time taking amazing photos. Cruise through the Botanic gardens and on to the Boab Tree where your guide will relay stories of how the Park evolved and also future plans.  Wildflowers, which are often unique to Western Australia, are pointed out in every different shape and color. These are everywhere in the Park most of the year and especially in spring season. On your return to the city, glide along the tree filled streets revealing historical buildings and places of interest; a wonderfully relaxing ride with nothing to do but enjoy the fresh air and take in the beautiful Parklands and magnificent river views.

Discover what Perth has to offer on a full-day tour of the city and its surroundings. Admire architecture, pearls, wines, and wildlife, and round off the day with chocolate, find food, and chocolate liqueurs. Meet your guide at one of the three meeting points, or at your hotel by prior arrangement. Sit back and relax in your air-conditioned vehicle, and head first to Kings Park. Appreciate the sites, such as the suspension bridge and the Whispering Wall, before moving on to Elizabeth Quay. Once there, marvel at the view of the Bell Tower and take a walk around the quay. Learn about the journey from shell to showroom of the Australia South Sea Cultured Pearls, and witness a pearl harvested from its oyster right before your very eyes. Next, drive through the historic town of Guildford, before stopping to taste wine at a winery in the Swan Valley. Head next to Caversham Wildlife Park, and feed the kangaroos. Meet the wombats, koalas, and other animal friends. You can purchase lunch at the Caversham kiosk, if you so choose. End the day with a visit to the Margaret River Chocolate Factory, and savor some of their products. Finally, enjoy a fine food and chocolate liqueur sampling at Providore, before being dropped off back at one of the meeting points.

On this 30 minute discovery session you will learn of the journey an Australian pearl takes and the risks involved to produce a gem worthy of jewelry. Before beginning your harvest, make yourself known to one of the friendly staff who will direct you into the harvest room where you will perch up overlooking the beautiful Swan River. Your guide will firstly fill you in on the background of Willie Creek Pearls and how the pearling industry is structured here in Western Australia. Next, enjoy an interactive presentation detailing the intricacies of pearl farming off the coast of Broome. This includes examples of specialist equipment used on the pearl farm. You will be amazed at the process each oyster goes through in hope of producing a stunning pearl for jewelry! Your guide will open the oyster right in front of you and extract the pearl from the inside of the oyster. It is fascinating seeing a beautiful pearl extracted from a not-so-beautiful oyster. A guided tour of the showroom and different types of pearls will cap off your harvest experience. You are welcome to ask as many questions as you’d like and leave with a whole new outlook on pearling and pearls.

As an older participant I was very apprehensive about this activity. However Erin the guide was so supportive and helpful that I was able to overcome my fears and eventually enjoyed the tour. My granddaughter was wrapped and declared it the best ever holiday activity! We’ll done to all the team.
