Full description

Enjoy a full-day tour of the Scottish Heartlands departing Edinburgh and traveling in small groups for a more intimate experience. Take a scenic drive through Perthshire, looking at the lochs and glens of the Highlands.

Cross the Forth Road Bridge, passing one of Scotland's great engineering wonders, and continue into the Kingdom of Fife. Pass Loch Leven Castle, where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned.

Pass Perth, before crossing the Highland Boundary Fault line. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, on the banks of the River Tay, visit the cathedral town of Dunkeld and the Hermitage, to take a fantastic woodland walk up to the Black Linn Falls.

Stop at the Victorian resort town of Pitlochry, and visit the great shops and restaurants, or take a stroll down towards Loch Faskally. See the unmistakable peak of Schiehallion, and beyond to the mountains of Glencoe.

Continue alongside Loch Tummel, and head past the spectacular 16th-century Castle Menzies towards the town of Aberfeldy and Dewar's Aberfeldy Whisky Distillery. After enjoying a dram of the "water of life," return to the lowlands and back to Edinburgh.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Stuart B, our Scottish kilted tour guide and driver was great, shared stories, great music, and the way he weaved the sights while traveling on the bus with music and stories of history, myth, and lore was so good and made the time fly, traveling for 9.5 hours seemed to just fly! Dunkeld was one of the first stops and was a lovely walk in rain through woodlands alongside the River Tay, then a short drive to the waterfalls of Hermitage which was a sight to behold! We had lunch in Pitlochry and had a walk around the town and sampled the local Whisky ice cream which felt wrong on a rainy day but still was a memory to treasure. The next stop was The Queens View at Loch Tummel which is a view all should try to see, truly special! The last stop, Dewar's World of Whisky was a great way to end the trip, The distillery was a great experience and the tasting (especially from the cask) was eye-opening. Last but not least, the Glens are so beautiful too!

We went on this trip with Carrie and she showed us the country's most amazing landscape and told us stories of the rich history with such great enthusiasm! We could not be any happier and you can tell that she loves her job. Carries energy was truly inspiring and she added a lot of humor and music to the trip. We can not recommend her enough. Thanks!

Grant was a friendly, lowkey guy who knew his stuff! Great day out overall, lots of sights, stayed on schedule and took us to some of the most beautiful sights (and delicious whisky) in Scotland. I highly recommend this tour and any other from Rabbie's when you plan your trip.
