Full description
Saddle up and sample the rich diversity of Edinburgh’s landscapes on a small group, 3-hour bike tour of the city center, Holyrood Park and Portobello Promenade. Using picturesque cycle paths, you will reach iconic sites in the heart of the city and cycle a beautiful coastal path.
Start by heading west from the meeting point, cycling along a designated path to the New Town area. After a gentle climb through residential streets, cross Princes Street, admiring views of Edinburgh Castle and Princes Street Gardens.
Now, pedal down The Royal Mile, immersed in the history of the Old Town. Cycle towards Holyrood Palace and the Scottish Parliament. The scenery changes as you enter Holyrood Park and pass Arthur’s Seat, formed by an extinct volcano more than 350 million years ago.
The paths now follow the route of a disused railway line towards the coast. Finish with a spin along Portobello Promenade and back to Leith, to experience the dramatic and contrasting cityscape of Edinburgh.
