Full description
Our Skye High tour is the perfect way for travellers short on time to get the most out of their trip to Scotland. In just three days, go hunting for the Loch Ness Monster, see ruined castles and stunning lochs, and listen to Celtic myths in a proper Highland pub. Day 1 – Edinburgh to Loch Ness On the first day, you’ll leave Edinburgh and head past the ancient capital of Stirling, home to legends such as William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, and home to bloody battles in the Wars of Independence. The route north then takes you through dramatic Glencoe, the site of the 1692 massacre in the Weeping Glen. Then, it’s off to the Great Glen, under the shadow of Ben Nevis (the tallest mountain in Britain), before arriving in Fort Augustus on the shores of famous Loch Ness. Day 2 – Isle of Skye The second day will see you exploring the Isle of Skye, otherwise known as ‘The Winged Isle’, or ‘Isle of Mist’. Immersed in Celtic myths and Viking legends, we will discover what makes this windswept landscape so special. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the brooding red and black Cuillin Mountains, and hike through the stunning scenery, returning to the mainland past Eilean Donan Castle. Day 3 – Loch Ness to Edinburgh For the final day, you’ll travel the length of Loch Ness in search of the elusive Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster. After that, it’s time to head back to Edinburgh – but you’ll be seeing Inverness, the capital of the Highlands, along the way. Stop at a Highland whisky distillery where you will discover how Scotland’s favorite tipple, the ‘Water of Life’ is made. For those brave enough, there’s even the opportunity to taste a wee dram. You’ll cruise through the sweeping and eerie Culloden Moor, then head south to Dunkeld with its mighty cathedral. Finally, it’s through Macbeth Country, across Forth Road Bridge, and back into Edinburgh. (Please note that this route may run in reverse if necessary)

Awesome experience

It was worth every penny. Our tourguide Ross made it a special experience since his famiy's history is tied to the lands. It's amazing how much you can learn and see in just 3 days. Also met a great bunch of nice people on the bus. If you are considering booking, you should definitely do it!!

Scotland beautiful and compact

A very nice tour of Scotland Highlands. The first day of the tour was not quite as spectacular, the second day was best in terms of landscape when it went to the Isle of Sky, the weather was not so good on that day, typically Scottish with a lot of rain and fog, even that third day had a lot to offer in terms of landscape. Due to the processing went great. Well suited for young people and also solo travelers.

Great experience

At first I was expecting a more hiking-intensive tour, however I am not disappointed by how it turned out to be. It's been very relaxing and I met wonderful people. Our tour guide/driver Ian deserves a special mention, he is one of the major factors that made this trip amazing. Very knowledgeable and with a great sense of humor, if you're lucky to be put in his bus you know you're going to have a great time
