Our Java guide Agus and our Bali driver Fafa were great and definitely made the 22-hour trip (to and from Nusa Dua) something special. You just have to be aware that from here both trips will take around 8 hours each. And that at 2 a.m. you start walking several hundred meters up, then down into the crater, then back up to sunrise and then all the way down again. Fitness is definitely required. It's also quite crowded on the weekends. But it is a wonderful, unique experience that anyone with a sense of adventure and fitness - and definitely sturdy shoes with plenty of tread - should dare!

Really tiring trip because of the distance but our tour guide (Fami) and driver (Fafa) made it really fun and enjoyable. Fami was very knowledgeable, took us on the fast routes down to the lake and helped us get good photos at the blue fire I forgot something back on Ijen and Fafa was able to make the trek back the next day to get it for me, unparalleled exceptional service. Fafas driving was great I basically slept the whole ride there and back

We were allocated an excellent guide ANTON from http://www.volcanotoursbanyuwangi.com Anton went out of his way to accommodate to our different needs. He definitely knew the area and could partial routes away from the masses of tourists. (It was also extremely enjoyable to be amongst the lovely lively good-humoured Indonesian tourists at 4am in the morning!) Seeing Bromo was magical. Thank you ANTON

It was a once in a lifetime experience watching natural beauty and nature in harmony amidst luscious surroundings. Our guide was very attentive and flexible. He was also a great photographer. Would highly recommend.

Driver was Faesal and guide Fahmi. Good driving and good knowledge of volcano paths. Very worthwhile experience
