The Alt Beer tasting tour was great because it was offered in English as well as in German. We learned about an important part of the Dusseldorf history. The brewmasters were very important to the community before the war but especially during and afterwards. They had created new recipes while down in their bomb shelters. When they were able to start brewing again after the war was over they created a thriving business that is still booming today.

We booked on a Sunday, so it was a smaller group and the bars were quieter which was great. Alina, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable. We learnt some really interesting things about the culture, and process of ordering beers, which would have confused us if we went on our own. It's a drinking experience you can only get in Düsseldorf. Highly recommend.

My partner and I were blessed to have Alina take us on a guided tour of the various traditional brauhäuser in the Altstadt. She was very engaging, knowledgeable and spoke perfect English! Her passion for Düsseldorf and Altbier was clear to see, and her enthusiasm kept us very engaged. The conversation flowed naturally, it was like drinking with an old friend. We learned so much, and look forward to enjoying altbier based on Alina's recommendations for the rest of our holiday. Thank you so much! I would recommend the tour as a first day activity for anyone planning on visiting Dusseldorf, as it will give you some important insight into the traditions and history of the local brauhäuser.
