Sunset Hiking Workout from Dubrovnik
- Small group
- Duration: 3 hours
This Dubrovnik Sea Kayaking Tour begins with a safety briefing at the park below Pile Gate before you head off with your guide across the channel and around the cursed Island of Lokrum. You’ll make several stops at points of interest along the way. On the 2.5-3 hour tour you’ll be accompanied by a guide that speaks excellent English and is very familiar with the coastline around Dubrovnik. Learn about the curse of the island and the history of Dubrovnik, previously known as Ragusa. Stop at one of the only hotels that was not rebuilt after the war. The hotel was the site of hand-to-hand combat between the Serbian and Montenegrin armies and the Dubrovnik defenders during the war. Spend around 30 minutes at the only beach in Dubrovnik that’s not accessible on foot, and explore a fascinating cave. You can swim, snorkel, explore the cave, relax, eat, or sunbathe. Later you'll continue back...
Great tour with lots of interesting facts about the town. I would surely recommend it! A friend liked it so much, he did the tour twice in two days.
Join this kayaking adventure on the Adriatic Sea to visit Lokrum Island, Betina Cave and see the Elaphiti Islands at sunset. Your journey starts from the Old Town at the small port of Pile. After a short instructional session, you will paddle beneath the city walls until you reach the hidden cave beach known as Betina, where you will take a short break for swimming and snorkeling. From there, paddle around Lokrum Island and explore its caves. Upon your return, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a magnificent sunset in the direction of the Elaphite Islands. When you return to Pile port, some wine and a snack will be waiting for you.
We had a great experience which ended with an amazing sunset outside the city walls. Our two guides were brilliant and gave us information on history, wildlife and life in general in Dubrovnik and Croatia. We managed to have a stop off in a cove for snorkelling and stay ahead of some other larger groups.
The starting point for this tour will be from Pile Park Beach. Everyone will receive equipment and then your guide will give you a short explanation of the basics of kayaking, paddling, safety and similar issues. First, go around the city walls passing near the old town port and going all the way to Betina Cave, where you will have a half an hour break for a snack, snorkeling, swimming, and cliff jumping. Afterwards, continue with your tour and paddle around the beautiful Lokrum Island with several stops at caves and various bays. You will also get to explore the Dubrovnik city walls from the water.
Awesome experience. Beautiful sunset. Bit colder than I thought due to slight wind blowing. Slightly smaller group than some of the other tours out at the same time which I think is much better. Definitely bring watershoes as the cave's beach has sharp pebbles and rocks where you get into the water.. Unfortunately not much to see when snorkeling and only goggles available due to covid (no snorkels)
Make your way to Banje Beach to meet your guide and get a demonstration on how to kayak in safety. Then, paddle under the ancient fortifications of Dubrovnik's Old Town and make your way to the island of Lokrum. See the botanical gardens and the summer residence of the Austrian emperor Maximilian from the sea. Learn about the history of the area and hear about some of the mysterious legends from your guide. Kayak along the shore of the island and discover the hidden caves. Get some time to go for a swim at Betina Cave or snorkel with the amazing marine life. Enjoy the complimentary fresh fruit and drinks in the sun and take up the challenge and get an adrenalin rush on an incredible cliff jump.
This was probably the best thing I did in Dubrovnik. An amazing experience and views of the city from another perspective.
Enjoy one of Dubrovnik's most popular summer activities and experience the city’s stunning natural and historical heritage on a 2.5 to 3-hour sea kayaking tour. Begin in Pile Bay and paddle to the island of Lokrum and to Betina Cave, where you will make a stop to go snorkeling. Paddle back to Pile Bay, where the tour ends. Enjoy a sandwich or fruit snack and a bottle of water. The sunset option ends with a glass of wine.
The tour was amazing! We had the perfect day for it and our tour guide was great :) We would definitely recommend doing this when going to Dubrovnik!
Start the tour at Pile Bay which is located at the foot of Lovrijenac Fortress. After a quick introduction to sea kayaking with your licensed tour guide, embark on your adventure into the waters of the Adriatic Sea. Begin the tour by paddling around Lokrum, making several stops to rest and hear stories about the area from your guide. Paddle past the Lokrum Caves and the nudist beach as you float on the crystal clear waters and switch off from all thoughts in this paradise setting. After around 5 km of kayaking, stop for a well-deserved break at the Betina Cave, approaching the beach from the eastern side. Here, enjoy about 40 minutes of free time to eat sandwiches, swim, snorkel, and cliff jump if you're feeling adventurous. Having stretched your legs, hop back into your kayak and continue along the Dubrovnik coastline. Paddle underneath the city walls as you listen to the fascinatin...
Jolie balade avec notre guide Mattia qui nous a raconté l histoire de Dubrovnik au fil de l activité.
The day starts in Dubrovnik’s main port Gruž in the morning. From there you’ll ferry to the island of Lopud. After spending time discussing kayakng technique and safety, you will launch toward the island of Ruda and then paddle to Sipan and its harbor town of Suđurad. As the highlights mention, midway through you trade your paddles for pedals and explore Sipan island, if not the most popular, then the most beautiful one in the Elaphite Archipelago. A traditional fishing island, with just two villages, one road and a bus line (yes, there is a bus connecting the two) although they are only 5km (3miles) apart. Before hopping on the saddle, you will discuss equipment and routes, which are customizable to cater to different physical abilities and bike across the middle part of the island which is mostly flat with old olive growths, vineyards, stone villas and wild fig trees (a perfect desse...
Be aware the activity level is high; this tour requires quite a bit of energy to bike and kayak across the islands. The kayaking takes close to an hour one way so be ready to exert yourself. While on land you do get to enjoy a quality local lunch and a swim in a beautiful secluded beach, the atmosphere is lovely but it takes effort to get there to enjoy it. And time is of the essence: We were rushed quite a bit to hurry on the bike and kayak to make sure we caught our ferry. This created quite a bit of stress and pressure from our guide which was unappreciated.
Make your way to Pile Bay in the Old Town of Dubrovnik and meet your English-speaking instructors to kayak on the Adriatic Sea. Venture out onto the water from the small port at Pile and paddle off to explore different sea caves. Marvel at the natural beauty of Lokrum Island, and then cross the bay to reach hidden Betina Cave. Take a break and cool down with a refreshing swim or snorkel with the marine life. Get panoramic views from the peaceful beach, and sink your toes in the sand far from the tourist crowds. Return towards the city walls and get lovely views of the beaches, palm trees and seaside villas. Paddle under the impressive walls of the city and experience the Pearl of the Adriatic from a different perspective.
Great experience. The explanation provided by Laura were nice as well. I had a wonderful time.
Enjoy one of Dubrovnik's most popular summer activities and experience the city’s stunning natural and historical heritage on a 2.5-3 hour sunset kayaking tour. You can see Dubrovnik from a new perspective, viewing the city walls from the seaside and enjoying amazing sights from your kayak. Your tour commences near Pile Bay, before venturing around the island of Lokrum before stopping in the Betina cave for some snorkeling and a snack break. You can enjoy some paddling by the city walls, before the tour returns back to and concludes at Pile Bay. After returning to land, enjoy a glass of wine.
Great kayaking tour starting from Dubrovnik Pile gate. Snorkeling was fab. Lots of fish to look at. Kayaking was really all levels, we are both experienced river kayakers but had never done sea kayaking and there were some complete beginners in the group, yet everyone had fun. Guide was knowledgeable and talked us through local things to do, beaches to go to, best restaurants, and history of the landmarks along our trip, as well as some local legends. Trip well worth taking the te for. Don't forget waterproof sunscreen and hats/sunglasses.
Starting the day with a panoramic ferry ride from Dubrovnik’s Gruz Harbor in the morning, you will arrive on the island of Lopud. After a safety talk and kayaking instructions, you will set off across the channel for the island of Sipan. Heading south west, you will first paddle to a natural stone arch which will provide a perfect photo opportunity. Under this archway, you can see the Adriatic sea open up in all of its glory. Next, you will regroup and paddle along the coast to the hidden Green Grotto. You will then tie up your kayaks and get ready for a wonderful morning of swimming and cliff jumping. But first, you’ll grab snorkels and masks and swim down through the cave’s opening. Very few know about this cave, even the locals, and inside there is plenty of room for swimming and even standing. This large and safe cave opens up to reveal an ethereal green light caused by the sun’s r...
Our tour was amazing. Ivo was the best guide. Not only did we do all in the itinerary, but he also vastly talked about Dubrovnik's history and was very friendly and chill throughout the whole day.

Mare is a really lovely guide who brought us to places we wouldn’t have gone without her. We were a group of 6 people and she always watched after everyone even if someone was struggling a bit with the heat. The island is really worth a visit as there are not too many tourists, it’s a nice contrast to the very crowded city of Dubrovnik. The hike was not to challenging, inexperienced people might face a few problems with the climate during summertime but Mare made sure that everyone would reach the goal! The swimming spot was an amazing place to relax and to refresh for the rest of the hike. All in all a very recommendable experience!
Just had an amazing day on the Kolocep hiking tour. First we want to say that the guides were amazing, they were funny and informative. It was in a comfortable tempo and we did many stops during the hike and they even served us energybar halfway through. The guides gave us time to take photos of the beautiful nature and just enjoy the moment. We can highly recommend this trip and also take the chance to eat at the restaurant, and bring cash (Kuna) since they not accept credit cards.
Our tour guide Maura was an excellent/amazing tour guide full of knowledge and very experienced. The best part of the hike was swimming and cliff jumps as we were dying in the heat. Photos we took you couldnt imagine. Highly recommend would do it again as Kolocep is an amazing place!!!
Really great experience seeing the most beautiful spots and hidden gems of Kolocep Island.
Five stars are not enough. This was absolutely wonderful! I am filled with happiness
