It’s unclear when booking, but you can choose either the short or long trip while on this excursion. There are 2 guides. One takes a group straight to Betina Cave to swim, the other takes a group around Lokrum before joining up at Betina Cave. Take the long trip, especially if Roman is the guide. I have an old neck/shoulder injury and it was still manageable. Roman is so nice and a wonderful storyteller. (You’ll see him reviewed on another of the tours here, but he’s switched to this one.) In hindsight, I might have preferred an earlier tour. It’s hard to see the city on the return trip with the sun backlighting it. But I guess it also depends on the time of year and where the sun is setting. We went in May. Overall, this was super fun and one of the highlights of our trip. If you are looking at this while still at home, take a dry bag for your phone. There is nowhere to buy one that I found.

Brilliant kayaking trip… great way to explore a little of the local area and an island! Your guises were fab. Good there was an option of a longer or shorter route. Good pace. About 8k in total. Water and a wee fruit snack was helpful. Take cash, the beach bar at one of the stops doesn’t accept cards so we missed out on a wee ice cream n coffee.

It was good fun

We enjoyed it but felt a bit lost at the beach as we were there for a long time. We were given the option to take either a short kayaking route or a longer one, which is good as our arms were aching even though my partner and I work out regularly. We were just a bit bored at the beach and so many other kayakers were put in the same spot. Personally supplying beach shoes would be a great touch as there are many pebbles on the beaches and it hard to walk around the beach and step into the water.
