The level 148 was so much better that the lower decks - there were less people and they behaved better, there was a small opening in the glass on the terrace, so you can make clear pictures (instead through the glass with reflection), the glass was also cleaner than on the lower levels. There was also free coffee/tea/juice/water and free dates and local sweets, plus nice places to sit. Also there was a photographer with really nice camera, so I recommend taking a real picture (not on green screen) and printing it - it's not for free, but it's a nice memory. I recommend buying a ticker for 16h or 17h (the sunset is usually around 17:30h), but show up there around 16:30h, because the trip to the top - even with the priority line - took like 40 min. You can stay at the top as long as you like, but usually 1h30min - 2h is enough. I recommend spending more time on the level 148 than on the lower decks. Note that even with the priority line, it was quite busy around sunset. Enjoy!

Wonderful experience, the personnel at floor 148 of the tower is very attentive with coffee, tea, dates (the fruit) and a mini pastry. You can stay at that floor for as long as you want. I booked the 2pm tour (it was a Friday, Dec 2nd) and was able to see 3 floors (148, 125, 124) with no hurry at all. Make sure you book the sunset tour if you're a fan like me of sunsets, the view is amazing from any angle. There were a lot of people on floor 124 and 125, but my favorite was floor 148 (the only one they give you snacks) since it was less crowded and it has sofas and chairs to rest.

Allow time to find the entrance via the Dubai Mall before your entry time. Definitely worth paying for VIP entry to avoid lengthy queues, particularly coming back down. The initial group was too big for the Guide as you could not hear his commentary and once we reached the lifts the guide pretty much left us to our own devices! A very worthwhile tour but could be better organised particularly at the beginning.
