This sea kayaking adventure is a truly unique way to experience just a taste of what this remote wilderness has to offer. Explore Deep Cove, Rolla Island and Olphert Cove on a full day out with an experienced guide and small group of kayakers.
Check in at the Manapouri Visitor Centre before boarding a boat for the 30-kilometer cruise across Lake Manapouri. Enjoy crossing the remote alpine route of Wilmot Pass by bus to Doubtful Sound.
Then begin your paddle past lush rainforests and waterfalls, looking up at the towering cliffs from the water level, a truly amazing sight. Kayakers can sometimes encounter penguins, seals and dolphins with bird song breaking the stillness of this beautiful paddle along the shoreline. The day involves approximately three hours kayaking in this remote Fiordland wilderness.

- Changing conditions can mean that tours will be modified, no two tours are the same
- This tour includes a 1-hour cruise transfer across Lake Manapouri and back, 45-minute bus transfer across Wilmot Pass and back, 4-hour Kayak in Doubtful Sound: in total this tour lasts for 10 hours
- The local operator will provide the kayak gear that you need: thermal top and leggings, wetsuit vest, fleece top and hat, paddle jacket and paddling gloves, life jacket (buoyancy vest) and spray deck, dry bags (for your clothing and camera), double kayaks/paddles, group safety and emergency gear
