Dijon: Wines of Burgundy Half-Day Tour of Beaune
- Small group
- Duration: 5 hours
Travel the Grand Cru wine route of the Burgundy wine lands on a half-day tour from Dijon, and visit the wine capital on a stroll around the historic city of Beaune. You will be in the hands of an expert sommelier, wine collector or producer, traveling along scenic roads that take you past vineyards and rural villages. Discover the vineyards of famous Grand Cru appellations, such as the Romanée Conti, Clos de Vougeot, Chambertin, and Montrachet, passing abbeys, castles, and Roman churches along the way. Stop to taste a selection of Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits wines. Your sommelier will introduce you to 5 to 7 white and Pinot Noir red wines, including some extraordinary Premiere and Grand Cru wines. Then, enjoy some free time wandering the historic streets of Beaune, Burgundy’s picturesque capital. Discover traditional shops selling typical produce of the region, including blackcur...
Lovely, knowledgeable guide but if you’re expecting a wine tasting tour like Aus or US then this is not for you. 40 mins spent tasting some nice and mainly red wine wines followed by a drive to Beaune through the vineyards. You will learn about the classification system but you wont visit producers or see a winery up close. Beaune is beautiful but an hour is not enough to give it justice - go see it separately.
Escape through the rolling Auxois countryside along the Burgundy canal and quaint country road from Dijon. Take a stroll through the medieval town of Semur-en-Auxois and stop for a spectacular view of the city’s fortress walls. Visit the Abbaye de Fontenay (12th century) listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the magnificent landscaped gardens in a peaceful setting. Stroll through the pretty village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain. Take in the sights of one of “the most beautiful villages in France,” where "Chocolat" was filmed. Drop into the village’s local factory producing "Flavigny aniseed" sweets (depending on the opening times).

Very good tour from the beginning to the end. The guide (Ann) explained everything and showed a huge knowledge concerning the wineyards, wine tasting and the history of the region. Very impressive ! She had an answer for every of our questions... Thank you very much Ann for this half day tour on our first anniversary of wedding. We will enjoy the Grand Cru we bought after the tasting.
the guide was very knowledgeable and gave the facts in an interesting manner. The little towns one travels through are quaint and picturesque. The wines tasted were quality wines and the experience was fun and interesting.
