Full description
Indulge your senses on a half-day wine tour of Burgundy from Dijon, and sample some of the local wines. You will be in the hands of an expert sommelier, wine collector, or producer, traveling along scenic roads that take you past the vineyards and rural villages of the Grand Cru wine route. See the vineyards of famous appellations, such as Marsannay, Fixin, or Chambertin, passing abbeys, castles, and Roman churches along the way. Learn the history of wine production in the area, as well as the wine making techniques of today, from pruning the vines, to ageing the wine in oak barrels, and the secrets of the terroir (soil). Stop to taste 4-7 wines in each cellar you visit, including Pinot Noirs and white wines. Your sommelier will teach you how to pair Burgundy wines with your meals. You will also see the wine village of Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits, often referred to as the “King of Burgundy Wines."

A half-day tasting tour was prefect for our planned trip. The guide, Gilbert or Hilbert, was very welcoming and knowledgeable. He provided us with background knowledge, not just on the Burgundy region, but other regions in France as we shared with him our travel plans. When we return to Burgundy, we will be sure to book a full day tasting tour.

This was one of the best tours we've ever taken! Emmanuel is a walking encyclopedic story teller who makes everything about Dijon/Beaune and wine interesting and understandable - and humorous! He really makes it a personal experience and caters to individual tastes, questions and ideas and is in no hurry to finish the tour. We also appreciated how quickly he responded to all our preliminary questions and he kept us apprised of covid changes. Exceptional experience!

This was by far one of the best experiences of all of our many travels !! We highly recommend this tour, we are only sorry that we did half day and not whole day. Ann, our guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable. We are avid wine drinkers and we learned so much about this beautiful and historic area . Don’t go to Dijon without booking this tour !
