The 7 Best Things to Do in Delphi
Steeped in history and wrapped in mythology, Delphi was the center of the Hellenic
world. A visit to the sanctuary on the slopes of Mt. Parnassus was also the opportunity
to consult with the Oracle at the Temple of Apollo and hear a prophecy for the future.
1. Delphi Ruins
The Spring of Castalia divides the site into two: the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia, which
includes the circular Tholos, and the Sanctuary of Apollo and its ruins.2. The Sacred Way
The inclined path, along which the lone Treasury of the Athenians once brimmed with
riches among many others of its kind, zigzags through the Sanctuary of Apollo.3. Temple of Apollo
Once a prominent feature at the end of the Sacred Way, visitors entered the temple to
consult with the Oracle. Her answers were ambiguous at best and open to
interpretation.4. Ancient Theater
First built with white stone from Mt. Parnassus in the 4th century BC, the 35 rows
seated an audience of 5,000 and provided a panorama of the stunning landscape
below.5. Mt. Parnassus
In mythology, Parnassus was the son of the nymph Kleodora, who lived on the
mountain with her two sisters. The site was sacred to Dionysus and Apollo and also
home to the Muses.6. Archaeological Museum of Delphi
The museum houses a fine collection of artifacts from the site, including statues,
friezes from the treasuries, and other votive offerings pilgrims brought on their visits.7. Sikelianos Museum
The home of the Greek poet and playwright and his wife illustrates their efforts for
a revival of Delphic Festivals in 1927 and 1933. Costumes and other items are on
display.

What people are saying about Delphi, Greece
The tour was great and especially Georg was a great driver. We felt very safe and well accompanied. He was very nice and gave his best so that we could enjoy the trip very much. Even if he was not hired as a tour guide he told us a lot. But the best was, he was there when we needed him but we also had enough freedom to take our one time when and where. The lunch was really good with a great view of Delphi and the archaeological site of Delphi was so great - for us a must see. We loved it. We definitely can recommend this tour.
Dmitrius was such a fantastic speaker & tour guide! The bus ride was smooth and we greatly enjoyed walking around the Delphi site and museum, learning many facts and figures about the history and significance of this area. We are studying the history of Greece (Herodotus) and this tour made Delphi come alive for us! Thank you so much!
Anastasia was an amazing tour guide, switching between Spanish and English flawlessly. Not only did we learn about Delphi, but also Greek history, culture, food and geography, and she gave us ideas for what to visit in Athens. Lunch was also amazing as well, with amazing Greek food and friendly service. Would highly recommend
Really great if you have at least a few days in Athens. Delphi was so famous in ancient times, it’s definitely worth a visit. The guide was great, explaining so much information during the bus journey. The museum is fascinating and the site itself is incredible. Our guide Anastasia was very knowledgeable and super friendly.
