The day begins with hotel pickup in Bentota. Continue on to the ancient capitol of Kandy, home to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. Declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1988, it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Take a tour through the works for an education on the processes involved in the fermentation, rolling, drying, cutting, sieving and grading of tea. Nice tour through villages in Sri Lanka, up through the mountains to finally get to Lipton Tea Seat. The views are fantastic, there was good food and of course tea. With the guide you really got to see the highlands of Sri Lanka. A must!
