Krakow: Czartoryski Museum Entry and Krakow Card 3-Day Pass

1. Krakow: Czartoryski Museum Entry and Krakow Card 3-Day Pass

The "Lady with an Ermine" portrait embodies the Renaissance ideal of an image as an illusion of natural vitality. Da Vinci managed to achieve this thanks to his detailed knowledge of anatomy, and his skill with light features. Combining these he was able to create a three-dimensional figure on the image plane. The original background, which was painted over in black in the 19th century, was also modeled with light just like the figure, which must have added to the impression of the model emerging from the shadows. The painting was purchased in Italy in around 1800 by Adam Jerzy, the son of Princess Izabela Czartoryska, and later donated to the Museum in Puławy. The portrait became the property of the Republic of Poland in 2016. In addition to the museum mentioned above, you get access to 37 other museums in Krakow that you can visit for free with the Krakow card. What people are saying about Czartoryski Museum

Small but really nice museum whose strong points are obviously The Lady with an Ermine and the paintings by Rembrandt. I booked with Get Your guide and then wrote to the museum to indicate the preferred time for the visit. From the museum they immediately responded by creating a reservation. The Gyg voucher must be printed and brought on paper because it is kept at the desk. In any case, an excellent experience, an unmissable stop on a visit to Krakow.

We went to see the Lady with an Ermine, but were blown away by the museum so well presented by the audio guide in Italian and the beautiful objects on display

Beautiful very organized and avant-garde museum during our tour we also saw young artists painting live inside the museum. Definitely a destination to visit
