Experience the majestic beauty of the Rainbow Mountains as you trek in the foothills of Mount Ausangate. Keep a look out for native wildlife, such as the mighty condor - the largest bird in the world - pumas and different types of camelids. Learn more about the extraordinary geology and the flora and fauna of Peru from your knowledgeable guide. A lot of fun! Our guide was awesome! The breakfast and lunch were really good (especially lunch) and was a great start and finish to the long day. The ride was actually only 2 hours which was nice BUT it is VERY bumpy so sleeping is kind of tough. We took horses up to the mountain (one way 60 soles or round trip 80 soles) and then walked the last 10 min which was steep. Once you get up there it is well worth it! Up top, there are llamas and alpacas you can take photos with (they are free but you are encouraged to tip 1-2 soles) and food. I HIGHLY recommend you get the fried alpaca and potatoes! We walked the way back which was easy and quick. I recommend you book this trip if you are on the fence about it!

The first two days were absolutely incredible. The hikes were challenging and the weather certainly played into that challenge. Day 3 was beautiful going through the rainforest but there was not enough hiking. We hiked about 4 hrs that day and could have continued hiking from where they picked us up by van. The base camp that night was a concrete building with tents set up inside. .. Not what I had in mind for this trip. Not to mention the party that raged far into the night. Our entire group tried to sleep early and could not due to the heavy base. Day 4 most of us went to the optional zip line course, Vertical Zipline, which I highly recommend. Again though the hike to Aguas Calientes was much too short and could have been longer. Our tour was a mix of multiple companies and I think that made it difficult to get organized and give consistent information. Multiple people had issues come up but were resolved. Overall, it was a great experience though and I would recommend it.

A lot of fun! Our guide was awesome! The breakfast and lunch were really good (especially lunch) and was a great start and finish to the long day. All around amazing experience! The communication was wonderful and our guide was extremely accommodating, especially since I was the only one who didn’t speak Spanish in the group. She kindly translated everything for me. I was also solo and felt very comfortable with this tour company. Breakfast and lunch were really good too!! I highly recommend getting a horse for the hike up. It’s much much harder than you think (I’m a pretty avid hiker and still ended up opting for a horse after starting up a bit). If you’re unsure which company to go with, you really can’t go wrong with Willka. Had such a great time!

Everything from start to finish was great! Our guide, Tony and driver Dino were awesome. They made sure everything went as scheduled and we had 0 issues! Tony was super chill and hilarious! The breakfast and lunch is good and was a great start and finish to the day. We ended up getting horses (80 soles) because the hike is no joke! It’s about 20% flat, 80% incline. Overall, it was worth it once you get to the lake! I’d recommend booking here if you are interested in going!

it was a shocking experience. we did not expect to encounter such a magical landscape. nevertheless it was a rather tedious journey.

The hike was harder than we anticipated but the view made it all worth it.
