Day 2: Saqsayhuaman, Tambomachay, and the Temple of the Moon – Transfer to Aguas Calientes   Begin your day with the journey to Saqsayhuaman. This Inca architecture, with its magnificent qualities and colossal stones, is considered one of the most exceptional constructions on the face of the Earth. From here, continue to the Temple of the Moon, a place for spiritual connection, and encounter the feminine energy of the Moon Goddess. In the afternoon, travel by car to the train station in the town of Ollantaytambo for transfer to the town of Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes). You will have the option to visit and enjoy the hot springs. Day 3: Machu Picchu Wake up very early for breakfast and ascend to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu to appreciate the sunrise in this magical place, believed to have been a sanctuary and energetic center. Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo – Moray-Salt Mines In the morning, return to the "living" Inca town of Ollantaytambo by train. Visit Ollantaytambo before continuing into Moray, an ancient construction designed for agricultural investigations and studies of different crops in a range of altitudes. Then, head to the salt mines of Maras, about 2 miles away. This village is known as a former salt-producing center that is thought to date back to pre-Inca times. There are over 3000 salt pools all carved into the mountainside, filled daily by a little stream of water. Day 5: Chinchero (Textile Interpretation Center) and City Walking Tour Chinchero, the rainbow village, is home of the ruins of the royal palace of the Túpac Inca Yupanqui, a picturesque community located on a high plateau overlooking the many snowcapped peaks of the Cusco region.
