Follow the route of the rivers of Cuenca on this fun and educational hiking tour. At 4 kilometers, this hike is suitable for everyone. Starting from the Parque de la Trinidad, where the 2 rivers meet, go up the Huecar River, which in the section that passes through the basin is channeled. Pass through the Puerta de Valencia. Around the Wall, begin to ascend after passing the Auditorium. At the beginning of the climb, admire the Puente de San Pablo and Las Casas Colgadas above your head. Climb the Hoz to the remains of the Hocino de Federico Muelas. Discover who this poet was and how important he was for Cuenca. From there, continue ascending among increasingly interesting vegetation. Take in magnificent views and photos of the Parador, the Hanging Houses, and the San Martín Skyscrapers, until you reach the Castillo neighborhood. From the remains of the Castle, pass to the Hoz del Júcar under the watchful eye of the Ojos de La Mora that observes you from the other side of the canyon. Who was the mysterious Zaida? What ties linked her to Cuenca? Along the high slope of Las Angustias go down to the Hoz del Júcar, leaving the sanctuary aside. in the background, the great Júcar awaits us at the popular Recreo Peral. From there, follow the course of the river with your guide. Observe the different vegetation. Continue through the Júcar, admiring the plant and animal life that accompanies it, as well as the different possibilities it offers to residents and visitors of Cuenca. Finally, the Júcar meets again with his faithful companion, the Huecar, marking the end of the route.
