Full description

Explore Santorini by boat on this day trip from Crete. Take part in a guided bus tour of the island, walk through charming villages, and witness stunning views.

Your experience starts off from Crete on the luxurious high-speed catamaran "Champion Jet 2." On arrival at Thiras port, you'll board a comfortable, air-conditioned bus with your experienced guides who will provide information about the island and its history.

Your first stop is the unique village of Oia. Built on the northern part of the Caldera rim, Oia offers magnificent views of houses studded along the volcanic rock hillside overlooking both the Mediterranean and Aegean sea. Next, visit the island’s capital Fira, where you will have plenty of free time to explore the picturesque alleys, admire the incomparable Aegean architecture, shop, or simply enjoy a drink.

Then, you have the choice of spending more time in Fira, visiting the magnificent black beach of Perivolos, or taking a boat tour of the Caldera (subject to availability). Finally, you'll return to the port for the trip back to Crete.

The tour was well organized and we had a lot of fun. However, taking the ferry back was very exhausting, we had to wait at least half an hour in the heat because the ferry left late. Otherwise the tour was very nice, we were able to get a good impression of Santorini. (Oia and Fira) The timing was also perfect.

The departure was on time from the port and seats are assigned. You will then find your bus number on the tickets (separated by language). It would have been good to know that you can get your tickets right next to the Seajets ticket counter, from around 7 a.m. There was no information about the tickets as to how to proceed. The Seajet itself is new and clean. You can buy drinks and snacks. Things then get chaotic in the port of Santorini. All push out and spread out on the buses. At the meeting point at the port for the return trip, we were pushed into gate no. 4 without a gap, it was oppressively hot, the ferry was late. After that we had to wait another 10 minutes outside in the blazing sun and then again there was a huge crowd without a gap. It was very chaotic until the ferry left. Everyone quickly in and the back door was closed. That clouded the impression of the otherwise really worth seeing day trip a bit.

A busy day during which it is necessary to provide water bottles! Two sites visited, Oia and Fira and a very affable guide. We had time to be real tourists. The sites are exceptional and it requires a little preparation to "get out" of the beaten track and see what is not necessarily visible. Only small downsides, related to the support on the site of the SeaJets catamaran. Little information at the start and delivery of access ticket without explanatory brochure (too bad); the tickets show seats in the catamaran but's anarchy. This can create some tension.
