overall good day. monastery was lovely, guide very knowledgable and informative willing to answer questions. the coach was comfortable but aircon didnt seem to work or wasnt on. wish we had been better informed prior to arriving at cave about the length and gradient of the walk… although you could have got a donkey for an extra €10. lunch spot and views of the Lisithi plateau was spectacular. there seemed to be optional extra to trip to see an ancient palace but we were not aware of this. it would have been nice to have had the option on the day to add on

This was a wonderful day trip and the highlight of my holiday! We checked to confirm our pick up point the night before and the lady on the phone was very nice and reassured us. The driver also got out of the bus to collect us as we didn't recognise the bus we were supposed to go on! Very nice tour guide with lots to say about each place we went to and taught us a little bit of modern Cretan history alongside the myths and the religious history. All around a good time, though I would highlight that practical clothing is a MUST. It is a steep climb to Dikti Cave and people with long clothing or uncomfortable shoes had difficulties.

Great tour around the Monastery, Lasithi Plateau and the Dictaean Cave, our guide was very knowledgeable. One thing to bear in mind is to bring cash (preferably coins or a small note) for entrance to the monastery - it's 2€ per person. My wife and I only brought cards and another traveller very kindly paid for us. Water and shoes with good grip are essential for the caves - the hike up is tough and the stairs in the caves can be slippery. We'd highly recommend this tour, it's great value for money.
