Even though we couldn't reach the summit due to increased activity of Etna and we were refunded part of the paid amount (because the part with jeeps were excluded) it was an amazing experience. Guides were funny and told us a lot of interesting information and even showed us pictures and videos of freshly erupted lava in their phones. The hike wasn't too challenging, but we were still exhausted after the day of climbing up and harsh winds. It was a great tip from other hikers in the comments below that you should take more clothes than you think you need :D I didn't take a jacket at the cabin before the hike at that was my mistake. Also, gloves would have been helpful too. The temperature at the top was 3-5 celsius.

Due to current restrictions we were allowed to do only the cable car, hike part and received a small refund. Perhaps GetYourGuide needs to reflect availability of tours, not just sell something and advice a day later (afternoon before trip) that this trip isn’t available. Experience itself was great, knowledgeable guides who were keen to share information and photos of recent eruptions, very well organised trip and highly recommended. Etna is fairly active currently so there are many restrictions to hike, guided tours are permitted to go much higher up. Hike lasted around 5 hours and was fairly strenuous at times.

This was really a great tour. Felt like it was worth it. The instructor was well educated and spoke very good English. I really enjoyed the hike.

Nice hike, nice tour guide, walking pace at a leisurely pace so everyone could keep up.

The trip was very successful, it only started late
