Full description
Explore the history of Cordoba on an approximately 2-hour walking tour of its main monuments. Available in Spanish, English and French, the guided tour departs from the Monument to the Lovers in the historic heart of the city. Visit the Synagogue, where the main door is profusely decorated with Mudejar plasterwork, and 3 small balconies form a trefoil archway with inscriptions from the psalms. Stroll through the complex network of small streets that make up the historic Jewish Quarter, enjoying the typical Andalusian flavor, and stop in decorative squares and streets to take in the sights. End your tour at the Great Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, where the mixture of architectural styles reveal 9 centuries of Cordoba history. Go inside to see the labyrinth of beautiful columns, double arcades and horseshoe arches. Discover how a Catholic cathedral was constructed inside the Islamic mosque, with Byzantine mosaics crafted from marble. At the end of the tour, at approximately 14:30, your guide will be happy to point you in the direction of local restaurants and taverns should you wish to sample some authentic Andalusian tapas.

We were fortunate to have our guide, Angel, to ourselves for the tour through the Jewish Quarter. Angel was personable, knowledgeable and entertaining. He pointed out many interesting facts and brief histories for us. Although we had to share Angel doting the tour of the Mosque, again the tour was excellent.

Nice

At first we had difficulries to listen to the guide, because we didn't have headphones and there was many noise on the street , we were releaved when they gave us the headphones just before entering the mosque. Our guide was nice, telling many details of architecture and history. It' pitty though, that the tour didn't include Averroes status.

This was a fascinating tour which gave me great insights into the history, culture and traditions of Cordoba. I wish I had more time to see and learn more!! Our guide Angel was so nice and had great knowledge of all the different historical and religious influences which shaped Cordoba. He spoke good English and had a sense of humour too which made it easy to listen to the stories! Thanks
