The Icefields were great! The skywalk was a little underwhelming but we loved when we got back to the centre and were able to walk almost to the glacier. We saw people take the heavy duty truck to go on the glacier but I don’t think that would be worth it for the price. Just park in the lot and walk up toward the glacier. Such beautiful views!

If you are travelling on the Columbia Icefields Parkway, it is worth it to stop and take this tour. The lineups were non existent when we were there, but I have heard they can be very long. We booked through Get Your Guide as we were told about the potential lineups, but we heard afterwards, that because we are Albertans, we could have had a discount! This was not offered through Get Your Guide. So, if you are an Albertan, take your chances and get your tickets at the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre.

This was a really cool experience! My advice is to go very early. It took us a few minutes to figure out where we needed to go (not very much signage until you get right at the check-in spot) to show our pre-purchased tickets and the Discovery Centre was SOOOOO busy! It’s also a few minutes walk from the parking lot up to the Discovery Centre, so make sure you leave extra time. Once we got checked in and on the bus it was wonderful.
