The tour was split into two halves, first we walked around Palatine Hill & the Roman Forum, I LOVED it, our guide was so engaging and he knew his stuff, he mixed fact with legend/mythology and it was just brilliant, I hadn't been expecting to enjoy it so much. An hour and 45 minutes later we walked over to the colosseum...WOW, the history behind the colosseum is amazing, it's just such a shame, but a necessity, that over the years we have had to do so much to work to the building in order to keep it standing. I just don't have much of an imagination so would have liked to have seen the building without all the acrow props here and there....but I do understand that the works they have done and will do in the future is a necessity. We had a different tour guide for the colosseum and, although informative, she wasn't as engaging as the first tour guide we had, but she had a lot of people to deal with and a lot of ground to cover, and it wasn't even peak season. Overall a great experience.
This was my favorite activity/tour during my time in Rome. We did this during the first day of our visit and it set the mood for the rest of the trip. Our guides knew so much and we were amazed by the history. They gave us time to take in the scenery and then more time to take pictures, which was important to us. I was determined to get a tour that included the arena and underground of the colosseum and I am so glad I did. The money spent was worth it. We were able to tour the full colosseum and have access to places a normal ticket wouldn’t get you. This tour was well worth it. If you’re deciding if you should do it or not, I would highly advice you to do so! It was amazing.
we've visited the site together with our 12 years old son and we were absolutely impressed by the amount of details and interested information we've got from the guides. Our son was captivated by the interesting stories told by our guides. They were very knowledgeable and well prepared to deliver not only historical accurate information but stories about the ancient world, their habits and living style. We really enjoyed out tour.
This your was great value for money, our tour Nicholas was extremely knowledgeable. Make sure you allow 3 hours for the tour as this is how long it actually takes not 2 hour as displayed. This includes a tour of the Roman forum, which is just as interesting and there are some amazing views for pictures. Make sure you take a drink with you as dont get a break. Overall brilliant value for money!
Wow absolutely fabulous, very interesting and well organised. Everything went ahead just as planned, easy online booking, met by the guide ( very friendly) and the jump the line option was great - we didn’t have to wait long at all to get in, which is often the case with all the big attractions.
