The tour start from Civitavecchia port/area. You will drive north with your English-speaking driver, through the beautiful landscape of Tuscany and Lazio. After about a 40 minute’s drive, you will arrive at Capalbio where you will take a look into the city center and discover the delights of Capalbio’s beautiful, from the picturesque Piazza Magenta to the walk around the top of the ancient city wall that defended the old village. A breathtaking panoramic view of the sea and surrounding countryside awaits you. Around 12 am, we have a delicious tasting with typical Tuscan specialities, and then you will ready to go to the Tarots Garden. The best way to describe it, is to use the words of its creator, Niki de Saint Phalle: ”The Tarot Garden is not just my garden. It is also the garden of all those who have helped me to make it. I am the architect of the garden. I impose my vision because I could not do otherwise. This garden was made with difficulties, love, wild enthusiasm, obsession and most of all faith. Nothing could have stopped me. As in all fairy tales, before finding the treasure, I met on my path dragons, witches, magicians and the angel of Temperance“. The project starts in 1979 and it will be subjected to change several times during the realization. The construction ends in 1996. The sculptures in the park represent minor and major arcane of the tarot deck. Creations are a blaze of colors : glass dowels, mirrors and ceramics cover the sculptures in which you can come in, go up and cross. Guided tours of the interior are prohibited, again at Nikki's behest, so that each tourist can imagine for themselves the representation and symbolism behind the sculptures. The similarity with the more famous Parc Güell in Barcelona is striking, the only difference consists in this case the 22 sculptures that constitute the Garden are inspired by the figures of the Tarot tradition, with mystical and esoteric significance. You will be picked up from Civitavecchia harbor in an air-conditioned car/van and after 35 min arrive to Capalbio where you can admire and visit the beautiful city center before visit the Tarot garden
