Interesting tour and good value for money

This was probably the best value tour we took out of 11 over a recent Med cruise. Our guide (Andrea Gringana ?spelling) was enthusiastic, friendly and informative but not "in your face". Everything was included in the price - travel, coffee, lunch, entrance tickets. We decided that a switch-over day in Civitavecchia was probably not long enough to go to Rome for a sensible period of time so we stayed locally. We'd never heard of Tarquinia past or present but it's well worth a visit. The only thing to note is that the ancient Etruscan necropolis consists of rooms underground, each reached by a steep staircase and therefore this tour is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. The size of the port of Civitavecchia and the rules associated with it mean that the guide cannot meet you inside the port gates so you need to take the shuttle bus to the entrance and meet them at the drop-off point immediately outside.

My friend and I enjoyed our guide and the city so much. We especially liked that the guide was from the city and was passionate about the area. It was at a leisurely pace and covered everything we initially asked. The Italian lunch was authentic to the region. We would recommend this guide and the tour highly!
