Discover the ancient settlement of Phylakopi at the base of a ravine that was shaped by volcanic activity. Learn more about this site which played a crucial part in the pre-history of the Cyclades and remained an active settlement until 1000 BC. Explore a classic Cycladic “Chora” with white stone houses and bougainvillea. Walk through the village to admire its traditional architecture and its stunning view of the sea from the veranda of Panagia Korfiatissa, a beautiful 19th-century church. Ask for the guide, Gladwin Kiritsi! Originally from Belfast, Gladwin has lived on Milos for many years with her Greek husband. She has vast knowledge of the island and comes with a wonderful perspective. She generously let me shape the tour to align with my interests. A very enjoyable afternoon and highly recommended!
