The Turia is one of the main rivers of the Valencian Comunity and has a natural and cultural heritage that must be known. Chulilla is one of the towns most linked to this river with a medieval castle landscape and picturesque streets nestled in the rock surrounded by the Turia canyon, more than 100m deep. We will take a tour of the town and visit the route of the bridges, a path through the gorges that crosses the canyon several times over hanging bridges and impressive views. Moderate mountain hiking. Interpreted visit to the riverside ecosystem and the timber uses of the river. Walk accompanied at all times by a nature guide.

Chulilla is located just 45 minutes of driving away from Valencia. The hike is divided into two parts: first the hanging bridges and then the village of Chulilla and the Charzo Azul lake. We will start the hike going through the canyon made by the Turia river and soon get to the Hanging Bridges.This is where most photos are taken and we will certainly stop here to take some of our own. After that we will continue walking through the canyon. Luckily, there is road access to the both sides of the canyon, so you can walk the trail without having to go back the same way. After that we will get back to the car and after a short drive we will be in Chulilla. Here we will visit the remains of the castle of Chulilla, located on the hilltop right above the village. Next, we will walk down to through another part of the canyon to Charco Azul. Here we will observe the dam and get the chance to take a dip in the cool waters of this lake. A short walk back and we will return to Chulilla. Here we can have a post-hike drink in a bar, before heading back to Valencia.

This tour combines a spectacular hike through a mountain canyon and a visit to the beautiful mountain village of Chulilla which is only a 50 minute drive from Valencia. The circular hike is 17 km and takes around 4.5 hrs. Parts of the trail follow an impressive canyon with vertical cliffs created by the river Turia. Less than an hour from Valencia lies a beautiful white village called Chulilla and a magnificent canyon which is the source of the River Turia. The walk through the Canyon is circular and about 13km and one of the best day trips from Valencia. We will pick you up from close to the centre of Valencia in a white minibus. The drive to Chulilla is less than an hour. We will have a coffee before we begin the walk. The walk is 13km long relatively flat about a 100 meter ascent and also included interesting rope bridges that cross the river. You must supply your own picnic lunch. If you are doing the route in the summer there is also an opportunity to go for a swim in the river.
