I recommend this excursion which was one of our best memories of this vacation. We were able to swim to the island twice (watch out for the rocks, bring shoes). The water was turquoise blue as advertised. It was magnificent, a heavenly landscape. If you want to have good seats on the boat, you have to arrive early. If you want to visit the city of Ierapetra, it is better to plan another time (we did not have time). Finally, hotel pickup and drop-off is very convenient.

Beautiful turquoise blue clear water. You have to swim to the island, but with a life jacket it's super easy. Unfortunately you can only visit the beach there and nothing more. It gets very rocky towards the island. Suitable swimming shoes would be an advantage. Otherwise everything was super organized and good food on the boat! The island is definitely worth a visit.

Count 3 hours by bus from Heraklion but it's worth it (if you're lucky enough to have good weather). The island is superb (turquoise water) and the boat approaches in order to access it by swimming. You can eat on the boat and the guide is great. Go for it!

Very interesting excursion and in contact with a naturalistic reality of great beauty.

The water was absolutely unreal. A must-do while travelling through Crete.
