Full description
This is the first stop you might be planning for your vacations in Riviera Maya. Chichen Itza will surprise you with the Majestic views from every point of the city. The surroundings set the perfect mood to discover the history and worldview that led the Mayans to create this stunning pyramid. Choose the time you spend on each activity offered and your driver will give you tips to enhance this expedition. Take a guided tour through the main archaeological site in the Yucatan Peninsula. Throughout this walk you can admire the ball court, the observatory, and the Castle. This main pyramid is the best spot to take crazy and marvelous pictures. Then head to Hubiku, a magical sinkhole underground where you can jump in the water to freshen up in this natural pool. It has a semi-open dome that allows the sunbeams to light-up the cavern. Next up is the Tequila Museum to learn the process of making various types of tequila. You can have a taste of different flavors of this Mexican liquor. Surrounded by the jungle trees, relax in the peaceful and fresh garden next, which has hammocks to relax in and enjoy the fresh air. A buffet of local cuisine is included on your adventure. Finally, inside the premises of Hubiku, discover a small Mayan village representing the way this ancient culture used to live. Have a taste of “Cochinita Pibil” the most popular and delicious dish in the area.

This was a fantastic tour and Mario was a very knowledgeable guide. Not only did he know everything you could think to ask about the Mayan culture and Chichen Itza site, he was also knowledgeable about other sites in the Mayan and Aztec world. He has many years of experience as a professional guide and a true passion for this subject and for others seeking to understand a different culture. Sure, you can get a cheaper experience, but it will be more like a taxi ride rather than a tour. He was there to pick us up directly at our hotel with a nice vehicle including A/C. He also had beverages ready for us, reading material about the Mayans and would ask frequently if we needed a restroom break. He took us to a fantastic cenote and restaurant for lunch (not the typical tourist buffet). The benefit of a private tour is that you run on your own schedule, no rushing in the crowds and it's completely worry free as he takes care of all the tolls, tickets and logistics.
