I was picked up by a van from Chiang Mai city to the camp with no problem whatsoever. There was a bit of wait time due to that it’s a shared transfer with roughly 8-9 people. Once arrived at the camp, there was a proper locker provided so I left everything there. Then, we had to drive up 10km to the top of the mountain in order to begin the whitewater rafting. Sak, the guy who prep us with the training was very informative and during the tour he kayaked all along the river to make sure we are all safe. There was 5 people on the raft including myself and the guide, Ta, who sat at the back. He was very entertaining and knew how to save us quickly from the chaos. In total, there were around 4 challenging rapids that was really exciting and after every one of them, there will be 3-4 guys on the shore waiting to throw you a rope if there is an accident which I think is very thoughtful of them that safety is key. I’d really recommend this activity to everyone. It’s super fun!
The 3 hour ATV ride is perfect for beginners and intermediates. It's a little slow for advanced riders looking for an adrenaline rush. Not a criticism - just an observation for everybody. The elephant park scenery stop is beautiful and the waterfall trek was good fun. We took the 2 person/3 person inflatable kayaks with a guide in each one vs the full raft into the river. This is what they use during low water season. I've used both kinds of rafts on the water before. The inflatables are WAY more fun. I recommended they offer single seat inflatables to more advanced guests. Those types of craft are the most fun.
White water rafting was great fun. First rate operation; capable, competent and safety minded. The ATV ride was awesome. Great camaraderie with the guides. Trails up the mountain provided incredible views and a decent challenge. Would do again.
The trekking guide (Moss?) was very informative and taught us about the local plants. Rafting rescue guide Tom was very safe and funny, was nice to be able to communicate English very well.
