The history of the Schloss runs deep. It began as the summer palace of King Friederich III's wife Sophie Charlotte. Today it’s the grandest palace you’ll find in Berlin. Worth a visit all year round, it is especially magical at Christmas market season.
Destroyed and reconstructed during WWII in perfect Schinkel fashion, this prime example of Charlottenburg Palace interior demonstrates day-to-day German royal life.
The classical mausoleum located in the gardens is humbling with its red granite columned entrance.
This quaint lookout building holds one of the greatest special collections in Germany. Its porcelain display is divided by purpose: tea and coffee, dinnerware, and decoration.
The only free part of the park, the giant baroque park of Charlottenburg Palace is truly a sight to behold with its ever-stretching lawn and giant fountain.
Complete your unforgettable evening with a classical concert - the orchestra even wears period dress!
Be sure to arrive early to avoid the crowds. No excuses with the relaxed opening time of 10:00AM.
Each building charges separately for admission, so it’s best to buy a day pass to access everything except the Neuer Flügel.
The cooperatation with other bus transfer programs was very helpful as we could see all the sites with shorter time, all audios were in function. The team were very kind and helpful, only the meeting point @ Aleksander place was not good defined as was mentioned beside Holiday Inn and it was more near to Park Inn
Dave was an amazing guide! Did not have much knowledge about Germany’s history but after this trip, I went and checked a lot of spots suggested by him. Left Berlin with a great deal of knowledge. Great experience overall!
Welcome Card and discounts at various sites was very useful. You do need to use quite a lot of public transport etc to make an overall saving, taking cost of the card into account, since fares are relatively cheap.
This welcome card gave us unlimited access to public transport for 48hrs. Trams, buses and trains. Public transport in Berlin is excellent and so easy to figure it all out. We certainly got our monies worth
It was just great being able to travel so easily around Berlin. The system is second to none. Used Google maps and off we went! Discounts probably paid for the cost of the Welcome Card.
