A day in beautiful Santorini from Chania

Got the tickets three days before the trip. Got email afterwards with the bus and ferry tickets and pick up point and time from the hotel. Bus was on time and I could just show the ticket from my phone (didn’t need to print it). In Rethymnon harbor I had no idea what do to. Just got on line with others and suddenly I had my ferry tickets to Santorini and back with me. The ticket showed the bus number I was going to go in Santorini. Lot of waiting and standing in que but on the ship everything went smoothly. I had no idea what was going to happen in Santorini but I found out in ferry. Was a little bit disappointed that it was so little time in Santorini because I wanted to walk on top of the volcano but didn’t have time for it. 1,5hours in crowded Oia was enough. Got the beautiful pictures. 1 hour in Fira was too little because I had to spend all the time to get something to eat. The last part was optional: more time in Fira, visit Perissa beach or take a short boat trip near volcano.

This trip was very well organised. Departure was sharp on time and the allocated tour guide was easily identified in Santorini. The sea jet had allocated seats and all went smoothly. The awesome views in Fira and Oia Santorini were worth the long trip. The only concern was the drive from the port to the Santorini cities: a narrow road with very sharp turns in the mountain and busy traffic. Big tourist busses travel both way on a one way road. Some of the busses have to stop and give way to the ones coming from the opposite direction. Drivers have great skill and courage still it's a safety hazard with a sharp 500 m down drop.

In this day trip there is a lot of energy consuming but worth get to see everything that you would want in Santorini, although is a very long day it has its rewards, wonderful weather in mid July but very crowded from the beginning of the trip till the end. The ferry runs smoothly and the tour guide were helpful.

The excursion was very good, perfect organized, we were not confused for a second, everywhere was a person to told us were to go and what to do this is very important when you have such a long trip. I think its the best solution to visit this beautiful and unique island, we had enough time to see everything. Thanks

Santorini is stunning but the crowds are crazy.

Santorini is amazing and is definitely a must see however this tour is very long and you have very limited time to see the sights. The bus and ferry services are completely packed with tourists and the information and communication is limited.
