We met our friendly guide-cum-driver Dmitris at the tour agency office and were taken to Anoskeli olive oil factory where we were given a tour of the facility before adjourning to the tasting area to sample their olive oil and a few of their wines. On this tour we were also accompanied by a local sommelier Andreas who shared his expertise with us. We were also taken to visit the oldest olive tree, and the olive tree museum next door. It was very interesting, lots of exhibits and tools on display. Lastly we had another round of wine tasting at a lovely restaurant Salis. Another a lovely outing, thank you Dmitris!

Knossos Palace & the Museum at Heraklion Very Interesting

The Palace and Museum were worth the visit, Heraklion itself is full of shops and restaurants, I am sure it has many other places of interest but after visiting the museum and getting something to eat we had no time to explore it further. It’s a long day out, half of it is spent travelling on a coach there and back with a stop for a drink and snacks each way although we weren’t very impressed with the choice of cafe or the coffee. In hindsight we would have hired a car but understand why some people prefer to travel by coach/do a tour.

Marvelous day and one of the trip we still look back at and wish to re-live the day over and over again. Everything was perfect from the beginning to the end. Starting with a very punctual pick-up and introduction of the day. Nasos is a super entertaining and attentive guide. You get to see not a touristic countryside with very carefully chosen places to eat All in all a day full of memories with an amazing guide. This trip and experience is definitely a must!

A great tour to learn about olive oil and taste wines, which we probably can only drink here in Crete on holidays, but best of all is seeing the places where it’s produced and meet the people behind. All the guides were really nice, very knowledgeable and helpful to explain why Crete is such a special place if it comes to food and drink! Highly recommended and be taken at the beginning of your holiday!

Nicky our guide was excellent. The pace of the visit was just right. Her level of knowledge was superb and she made it come alive for us. She gave us the right amount of information and was always willing to answer questions. The tour was very well organised. My only disappointment is that there were many people and the small bus was virtually full so no possibility of social distancing.
