The weather was a little windy however it wasn’t too hot and we enjoyed the boat trip and the lagoon. Water is crystal clear and you can find a piece of pink sand beach there as well.

Quite arduous if you are not used to walking in the heat of the day. But please don’t be put off just be very careful where you step.

  • From Heraklion: Day Excursion to Elafonisi

Experience a very special Tour that leads you to Crete's most southwestern part on the small island of Elafonisi. Drive from the north coast to the southwest and enjoy a scenic ride through beautiful nature and picturesque mountain villages to one of Crete's most beautiful beaches. Enjoy pure relaxation on exotic beaches with white sand and turquoise water. Jump into the refreshingly cool water and admire the pink shimmering sand in some locations, which has arisen from broken shells. The small lagoon provides an ideal place for paddling and bathing for children as well. Cross the shallow lagoon and reach the small idyllic island, where you can admire beautiful dunes and the local nature. Towards the sea, Elafonisi shows a steep rocky ridge, which is the real core of the island. Between the ridge and the coast, the island arose from alluvial deposition over thousands of years. Beautiful hike! Difficult for those who don’t have the best grip since it’s almost always downhill. However, after the first hour it is quite manageable (but long of course, took me 6 hours in total). Elena was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable, friendly and (which I loved!) she reminded people to wear a mask on the bus. The Tour was overall really well organized with minimized waiting times (except for the afternoon, where you get to spend time in the village by the sea, but this was quite nice and doesn’t count as waiting time). The bus driver also did a very nice job. Only minor criticism I have is the breakfast break (20 minutes) which seemed unnecessary. Nevertheless, I highly recommend to do this hike with this company!

Bus was a bit delayed in the morning. Other than that timeframes were kept, our tour guide was lovely, elafonisi beach is gorgeous. We also had a stop at a cave with a church built in - gorgeous! and another stop upon return to a small village for lunch. Would recommend

Really excellent. You're paying for the convience of everything being organised for you and they do just that. Coach picked us up from very near our airbnb and our tour gide Thomas was great, clear instructions on what to do when and a great charm as well.
