Following the Footsteps of César Manrique: Four Art Centers

1. Following the Footsteps of César Manrique: Four Art Centers

César, a multidisciplinary artist, painter, sculptor, conservator of monuments and tourist resorts, designer of landscapes and gardens, and recognized ecologist, created from natural volcanic accidents a tendency that impacted the world. He managed to unite Art, Urbanism and Tourism in a single concept, under a philosophy and model of urban intervention based on sustainability and respect for the natural values of the territory, into what is now a world reference. The Island would be different without the Monument to the Peasant, Los Jameos del Agua, Mirador del Río, Cactus Garden or the Cave of the Greens. It would certainly be less attractive and with much less personality. Not visiting these Centers and works of art, being able to interpret them, is like not even having travelled here. This tour offers you the opportunity to discover the North of Lanzarote having a panoramic of Haría, Riscos de Famara and Volcán de la Corona. You will have the privilege to visit the art centers of Cesar Manrique such as Monument to the Peasant, Cactus Garden, Mirador del Río and Fundación César Manrique. Choose if you wish to visit Jameos del Agua or Cueva de los Verdes, two marvelous art centers which are a must in your visit to Lanzarote.

Lanzarote: César Manrique Foundation and Teguise Market

2. Lanzarote: César Manrique Foundation and Teguise Market

Discover this fantastic excursion to the César Manrique Foundation and the Market of the royal town of Teguise every Sunday. Accompanied by a local guide we will visit "The César Manrique Foundation”, the home and workshop of the great artist. It dazzles above all for its architecture. Much of this unusual dwelling is embedded in one of the longest lava flows on the islands. Natural lava walls and their curious shapes were his residence for two decades and inspiration for his creations that made Manrique a unique artist. Free time in Teguise. It was the capital of Lanzarote until the year 1852. It then became Arrecife due to its status as a seaport, with Teguise becoming the second most important city in Lanzarote. Apart from enjoying the old town, on Sundays it hosts a market where you can enjoy local cuisine, handicrafts and souvenirs among many other things...

Everything was perfect Enough time for each activity (time of the excursion respected, we returned around 5 p.m.). The guide was friendly and spoke very good French. Nothing to say, I recommend.

The guide spoke four languages. We really enjoyed the excursion. We had enough time for all four sights everywhere. The bus is up to date and clean. The excursion is recommended.

A very nice trip with a great guide, where we could see everything we wanted. The time spent at the various stations was sufficient and not too long. Always happy!!

Guide at the top who really left us all the time to visit. Lunch provided in a small restaurant. A very nice day
