Great time. The guide was great and the history and building of the hotel is extremely interesting. I recommend this tour to anyone working the area. We traveled 1 hr 20 mins from tromso ( which is nothing for a Canadian used to traveling) and it was worth it. The artwork is amazing, the experience is wonderful. Again if your coming from abroad it’s worth the money!
The drive was not so long and the scenery would have been amazing if it wasn't raining. The excursion was great, the bus left on time and the introduction and film were great. We were left to explore the rooms on our own which was good for taking photographs at leisure. I particularly enjoyed feeding the young reindeer and it added a little something to the trip.
It was our first trip to an ice hotel and we had an excellent time! Everyone was very friendly. Fantastic customer service too. We were worried about missing the trip as we had problems with transport but called the office and thankfully were still accommodated 15 minutes late to the coach pick up.
The Ice Domes are fine. They're an interesting oddity but nothing amazing, honestly. It was fun to be out in the country, in the valley, and to see the beauty of nature in winter. The "warm" room was lovely, and the fish soup was delicious and welcome.
I had imagined it to be a bit bigger since it tour took us far from town but the sculptures and structures were very skillfully created. The themes in the half domes were connected to the local culture and history which I very much enjoyed.
