We loved the trip, everything was excellent, including the breakfast stop, hiking racksack and essentials for hiking, lunch stop and finally the hike. Few things would make it even better would be proving the hiking path map before the hiking start, providing a phone number to call in case of emergency on the hike and a bit of constant communication between the first guide and last guide to make sure that both are not too far apart ( May be even carry radio talkie or something to connect and talk)

I went with Travesías México for a 12 km hike between two volcanoes, Iztaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl. It was stunning. I was a bit worried about the altitude - we started at 3600 meters and ascended 350 meters more. Luckily the grade was easy and our guide had a nice, easy pace. There was an option after 4 km to take a quick route (4 k) or scenic route (8 k) back. The scenic route passes through forests and by streams - I'm glad we chose it.

We had a great time on the experience! The views are stunning and the hike is not too strenuous despite the altitude - you can take regular breaks to get your breath back too. It’s very quiet and peaceful (we went on a Saturday and there was nobody around really!). It is cold when you first get out of the car but you warm up quickly on the hike, so take some layers! Lunch was included and so were some antojitos at a taco stand on the way back to the city, which were delicious.
