What people are saying about Central Croatia

The trip was a tour of Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is Croatia’s oldest and largest park, and Rastoke – a mill village on top of a waterfall. The park is about a two-hour drive from Zagreb. On the way we stopped briefly at Rastoke, part of Slunj, a town in Karlovac County situated above the Slunjčica and Korana Rivers. The rivers flow over travertine rocks creating small lakes, rapids, and waterfalls. We hiked around the upper and lower Plitvice Lakes for about four hours. The path was easy, but there were a few series of steep uphill stone-step climbs, The lakes are only a tiny portion of the huge park, which is over 300 km2 of forests, grasslands and heathlands, fens and bogs, rocks, and underground water grasslands. The forests are home to brown bears, wolves, and rare bird species. The park is heavily forested with beech, spruce, and fir trees, and a mixture of Alpine and Mediterranean vegetation. Great way to spend a day!

Must do activity while visiting Zagreb. The lakes are picture perfect and beautiful. We visited in the 1st week of November. The Rastoke village is a beautiful, picturesque spot. Our guide, Dino, was nice and provided information on the way about Zagreb and also during the entire tour of the National Park.

This was a fantastic tour. The nature and scenery was so stunning. Our tour guide Ante did an amazing job of being our driver, photographer and tour guide. He has fantastic knowledge of Croatia and the plitvice lakes and we had an amazing day. Thank you so much! See you again!

We had an amazing experience on our trip. We were picked up from our hotel on time and had an awesome trip. We felt cared during the whole time and it was truly worth the reasonable money that we paid. Highly recommended.

The pace and distance was just right for our group. Sandra was a brilliant guide - patient but kept the pace so we were not late and the route was fantastic as we ended with a grand finale view in the lower falls!
