Set off on your full-day tour from Lisbon and discover one of the most scenic parts of Portugal's countryside. Make your way through Alentejo with its magnificent plains filled with olive trees, vineyards, and cork oaks. Make your first stop at Évora, a Unesco World Heritage site and one of the most beautifully preserved medieval towns. Take a guided tour inside the Roman Temple, one of the best preserved Roman structures on the Iberian Peninsula. Your guide will also show you around the must-see Chapel of Bones. Take time to admire the ornate architecture of the Cathedral of Évora. Your second stop will be the graceful medieval village of Monsaraz, one of the oldest in Portugal and built within the walls of a castle. Taste one of the best wines in Portugal with the views of one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe. At the end of a full day of sightseeing, return to Lisbon. Tr...
Begin the tour at Giraldo Square, the living center of Évora, full of architectural styles, from Moorish arches lined up in the Square, to the fountains of the Renaissance and the Gothic church of São Francisco. Enjoy some free time to taste a regional sweet. Then head to one of the major landmarks in Portugal, the Roman temple, also known as the Temple of Diana. Its powerful front with 14 columns in well-preserved granite astonishes those who see it for the first time. Next, you can explore the Bones Chapel if you wish. For some people, it is a dark place, for others a fascinating space consisting of hundreds of skulls and skeletons from about 5000 monks of the sixteenth century. There are also two intact corpses exposed in the chapel, so it is not a visit for sensitive people. At lunchtime, dine in one of the best Evora restaurants. Then go to the Cathedral of Evora, a Roman-Gothic c...
An excellent day. Well structured with the right amount of time in each place. Informative but not overbearing driver/guide. Would have scored excellent if you could have turned the wind factor down!
Relax and enjoy the safety of a private tour. Meet your guide at your hotel lobby and travel from Lisbon to Évora in a comfortable vehicle. Go back in time and find out what gave the city the UNESCO World Heritage status. Visit the Roman Temple, the Evora Cathedral and Giraldo Square. Also, discover the São Francisco Church that houses the chilling Chapel of Bones. Enjoy free time for lunch. Then, visit the Eugenio de Almeida Foundation (Adega Cartuxa) to take a guided tour to the winery and have a wine tasting. Alentejo is one of the most extensive regions in the south of Portugal recognized for the production of large, ripe, and fruity red wines.

We made a very nice trip to Évora, our sicerone, João, was very kind to us, made us feel very comfortable in the city. Maybe because it is Sunday, we could not enter the castle of Arraiolos, just saw outside and visited a street with carpet crafts, we had so much fun!
This was the first tour on our vacation and we have a perfect day in Evora with a delicious lunch. Our guide was very helpful and accommodating when our schedule had changed as well. Would recommend this tour.
Esuardo was a great tour guide. the tour of Evora was very good, with a visit to the chapel of bones highly recommended. the wine tasting and lunch was also of a high standard.
I appreciated our guide taking us to a cork factory. It wasn't on the itinerary but when he offered I was glad to accept. It was most interesting.
I had trouble confirming the tour, but the guide was worth it
