What people are saying about Castellammare di Stabia, Italy

Collected on time from our hotel in a comfortable SUV and having collected a few other travelers on the way, we were dropped at the harbour to be whisked across the bay in a speedboat, looked after by two lovely crew on board. Collected from marina by minibus (spotlessly clean) and brought to Vesuvius while being given some information by our lovely guide. You're dropped off quite high up and left to walk the remaining bit on foot (about 40mins) to the top. Breathtaking views over bay of Naples. Brought for a nice lunch in vineyard/horse riding school and then on to Pompeii where we were given an informative and entertaining tour by our private guide. Back to the speedboat and returned across the bay, stopping off for 30 mins or so for people to hop in for a swim - those who didn't were treated to a glass of prosecco. Dropped back to the hotel by private bus. 11 people in total on the tour and there was good banter between us which made it all more enjoyable.

It was all brilliantly organised and we were treated incredibly well from the moment we were picked up, to the moment we were dropped back at our hotel. The tour guides Anna and Genaro (wife and husband) were really friendly, insightful and lots of fun and the captain and crew on the boat couldn’t have done anymore to help, with the wine, limoncello and cakes on our return journey. The icing on the cake was returning by boat whilst the sun was setting. Magical. Exceeded all our expectations. Highly recommend.

Perfectly organized, neatly picked up at the hotel with a decent car. Nice trip over the water to a port near Pompeii. First done the Vesuvius because of the crowds there in the afternoon and then visited Pompei. Lunch was in a vineyard with tasting and delicious food. Return trip was also well organized with a refreshing dip in the Gulf of Naples to cool off after a hot and tiring day. Guides were also fine, speak good English for Italian standards. Friendly people everywhere we went.

This tour was the highlight of my trip. It was amazing how much we experienced in one day and I wouldn’t change a thing. The tour guides were very friendly and well organized. Vesuvius was a great way to start the day. Lunch at the winery was a perfect way to take a break and the food was delicious. We learned so much during our tour of Pompeii. Getting picked up and returned back to our hotel made things so easy. I would highly recommend this tour and would do it again if I return.

This is a long day but well worth it. The climb up Vesuvius is tiring but also worth it
