Calanques Cassis Hike: Port-Miou, Port-Pin & En-Vau

1. Calanques Cassis Hike: Port-Miou, Port-Pin & En-Vau

Embark on a 6 km hike departing from Cassis. Cross the creeks of Port-Miou, Port-Pin, and one of the most famous, En-Vau. Discover sensational landscapes as you trek along the crystalline waters that meander like fjords. Start by exploring the 1400m long Calanque of Port-Miou that houses a marina and conceals a rich heritage. Learn about a former site of exploitation of a limestone quarry and an underground river. Along the coast, continue until you reach the cove of Port-Pin, marking the entrance to Marseille. Discover a winding cove home to a pretty pebble cove with turquoise waters which you can, if you wish, taste the freshness of its waters during a break. Start to gain a little altitude, which will gradually take you up to 90m above sea level, to the En-Vau belvedere, revealing its beach in reverse, low and buried between the high cliffs.

Cassis: Calanques National Park Standup Paddleboarding Tour

2. Cassis: Calanques National Park Standup Paddleboarding Tour

Departing from Cassis, we will start by crossing the calanque and the wild port of Port-Miou. Its name comes from the Latin "Portus Melhor" meaning best port. Indeed, set in the hollow of the cliffs, its waters are naturally sheltered and calm, which will allow us to start gently! We will follow the coast of the Calanques, to the calanque of Port-Pin to make a stopover there, and sail above its transparent waters. Finally, we will sail to the calanque of En-Vau, thus taking advantage of a break to possibly swim, explore the seabed and meet the marine fauna and flora. Along the way, we will discover the rich heritage offered by the Calanques National Park and its unique geology, strewn with pines clinging to the limestone rock. Come ride!

What people are saying about Cassis

Amazing day in cassis from Aix with our tour guide and a fun crew of people we met on the tour. The drive to cassis and from Cassis went by so fast with our livelyconversations , the boat ride to the Calanques was breathtaking, )the boat driver did most talking in fresh but he let us Americans in on the highlights in English). Great walk through the town afterwards without tour guide leading the way and explaining some History. , lunch near the port and then the bonus of a wine tasting in our way back. Wear comfortable shoes!

We had a wonderful experience. Lucille was a terrific guide. Since she is a local, she knew just where to take us and she answered all our questions thoughtfully. This trip seems very reasonably priced for a full day and had just the right balance of experiences. I’d recommend this to anyone who wants a bit of everything in the Cassis area.

We loved our trip to Cassis with Lucielle! She was incredibly knowledgable and showed us all the sights we wouldn’t of thought to go too. It was a fun day with a super fun group! Would recommend 10/10

Our guide was wonderful. We had free time to wander around and have lunch on our own. Guide was very knowledgeable.

My tour guide (Lucille) was AMAZING. I am already planning my trip to come back!
