Cassis: Calanques National Park Standup Paddleboarding Tour

1. Cassis: Calanques National Park Standup Paddleboarding Tour

Departing from Cassis, we will start by crossing the calanque and the wild port of Port-Miou. Its name comes from the Latin "Portus Melhor" meaning best port. Indeed, set in the hollow of the cliffs, its waters are naturally sheltered and calm, which will allow us to start gently! We will follow the coast of the Calanques, to the calanque of Port-Pin to make a stopover there, and sail above its transparent waters. Finally, we will sail to the calanque of En-Vau, thus taking advantage of a break to possibly swim, explore the seabed and meet the marine fauna and flora. Along the way, we will discover the rich heritage offered by the Calanques National Park and its unique geology, strewn with pines clinging to the limestone rock. Come ride!

Along the coast, continue until you reach the cove of Port-Pin, marking the entrance to Marseille. Discover a winding cove home to a pretty pebble cove with turquoise waters which you can, if you wish, taste the freshness of its waters during a break. Start to gain a little altitude, which will gradually take you up to 90m above sea level, to the En-Vau belvedere, revealing its beach in reverse, low and buried between the high cliffs.

Ask for Natalie! We enjoyed a fantastic tour with Natalie starting from Aix-en-Provence to Cassis. Natalie drove us to Cassis in a comfortable minibus and is very entertaining along the way. Learn about the wines in the region and about the towns you pass. We took the optional boat tour to Les Calanques, and were promptly picked up by Natalie on return. Safe, efficient, and entertaining. Remember: ask for Natalie! Nous t'aime!

Good trip. We went places we would never have gone if we had stayed near Marseilles. Aix is a cute little town. Cassis is a beach town very different from Marseilles. Also visited a winery among other places. Beautiful views on the drive. Driver was excellent and knowledgeable. A bit pricey but remember it was an 8 hour private tour at today's gas prices.

It was a bit difficult to find the meeting point as we have been there quite early. But the guide was very friendly and we had a good time. Keep in mind that you will be paddling for quite some time, so bring enough water and eventually a snack for the break

Great tour that gives a terrific introduction to Marseille, Cassis and the Calanqes National Park. Our guide Florence was very knowledgeable and ensured that we had a very enjoyable experience.

This was my favorite day of the whole trip! The boat ride was awesome, loved walking around the city and eating lunch, and the winery was the perfect way to end the day!
