Spend an entire day exploring Lisbon's surroundings on a tour that takes you to Sintra and Cascais. First visit the mysterious and fascinating village of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to explore its natural landscapes and cultural and natural heritage. Upon exploring the village, you will feel as though Sintra seems to have come straight from a fairy tale, with its many palaces and Romantic architecture. Next, it is time to cross the mystic mountain of Sintra towards the Atlantic Ocean. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to see the quaint Colares village and learn more about local wines dating to the 13th century. You will be taken to the westernmost point of continental Europe. From here, you will climb down to the beach. Continue to Cascais, a former fishing village that gained fame as a resort for Portugal's royal family in the late 19th century and early 20th century. You will have time to enjoy lunch among the splendid scenery and may choose to enjoy a traditional meal at a local restaurant, or bring your lunch and eat outside. Continue to Pena Palace located on the top of the Sintra Mountain. Embark on a guided tour through this colorful building and take in the incredible views from the mountaintop. At the end of the tour, be dropped off at the original departure point.

This sightseeing excursion begins with a hotel pick-up where you will board a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and head towards Lisbon's top tourist attractions. Your first stop will be at Eduardo VII Park, the largest park in the central area of Lisbon, named in honor of King Edward VII of Great Britain who visited the city to strengthen the friendship between the two countries. Next, you will visit Rossio and Avenue da Liberdade before stopping at the Lisbon Cathedral (Sé de Lisboa), a haunting 12th-century structure that resembles Notre Dame in Paris. Your knowledgeable guide will provide a historical overview of the city before you take in breathtaking views from a viewpoint. You will then travel through the medieval streets of Alfama, Lisbon's oldest district, and immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere of the downtown area. In Belem, you will see the Jerónimos Monastery, Belem Tower, and the Monument to the Discoveries. After being collected from your accommodation, begin your relaxing evening tour through Lisbon's charismatic streets. Then, make your way to Coimbra and start the tour of the city at the oldest University in Europe. See the highlights including the Joanine library, built in the XVIII century on the grounds of the former prison of the University and marvel at one of the most beautiful libraries in the world, Then, transfer to your hotel in Oporto and stay overnight (not included). Day 4: Oporto and Gaia Start your day tour of Oporto at the central Avenida dos Aliados, a famous spot for celebrations and events. Admire the imposing Oporto Municipal Council building. At the end of your day, return to your hotel in Oporto and stay overnight (not included) Day 5: Douro Valley Check-out at your hotel in Oporto and take your luggage with you as you will be taken to the airport in Lisbon or Oporto at the end of the day (if desired). The day starts with a visit to Amarante in the Douro Valley, where you can see numerous examples of the Romanesque and medieval buildings. Then, stroll along the S. Gonçalo bridge and enjoy some of the most popular sites of the city, including the Church and Convent of São Gonçalo and the Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso Museum. Next, head over to the market where you see vendors selling the delicious S. Gonçalo sweets, always a source of curiosity and great laughter due to their phallic appearance.
