The tour itself was very interesting and sometimes emotional listening the stories told by the guide and by an ex inmate. The organisation though was very rushy and confusing with not so much details where to go and how to move. And, I was a but deluded when I found out that the ticket at the counter direct was half price the one I bought. In the ad there was a price also only for SA residents and I had to pay extra 260 R. Excellent service from the hotel pick up until the island. I got to understand the history of Robben Island properly. I was deeply touched by the Robert Sobukwe history and realized that some heroes are indeed not fully celebrated. I cryed when I saw the single cells were our political leaders were kept was the same size where dogs were leaving. Those people survived difficult conditions.

Good communication, they sent me the ticket one day before and smooth pick up. Yet I don’t think it was worth it. Could have done it on my own. I only booked it as I was trying to book from RI website before I arrive and it was not working and was afraid it will be fully booked when I arrive, but I think its expensive given that they don’t offer anything extra. But overall it was an ok purchase given my situation.
