Cancun: 3-Hour Snorkel at Underwater Museum & Coral Reef

3. Cancun: 3-Hour Snorkel at Underwater Museum & Coral Reef

Start the tour in the lobby of your hotel in Cancun. Board an air-conditioned van which will take you to the Marina. After a quick check-in and an activity briefing, hop onto a boat and set off to begin your 3-hour snorkeling adventure.  Make your first snorkeling stop at the Underwater Museum, where hundreds of sculptures are submerged. The artworks have a double purpose: to attract people away from the natural coral reefs and to create new reefs. Next, make your second stop at the magnificent coral reefs along the Great Mayan reef barrier. This incredible site is part of the 2nd largest coral barrier in the world. Enjoy the opportunity to interact with colorful fish and other marine life in their natural habitat. This is a tour for people that do not have a lot of time or do not want to take a full day tour for a couple of hours to snorkel, those who love the ocean and those that have been around many times and just want to focus on the snorkeling. Water and soft drinks are included throughout the whole excursion.

Cancun: Aquaworld Scuba Diving School

4. Cancun: Aquaworld Scuba Diving School

The best way to explore the underwater world of Cancun is, no doubt, by scuba diving. Learn to dive for the first time with a professional diver and discover the wonderful sea life of the Mexican Caribbean. Choose between visiting the colorful Manchones Reef or the mysterious Underwater Museum of Art, also known as MUSA. Both diving locations are home to hundreds of tropical fish, corals, starfish, turtles, and rays. Manchones is a shallow reef located close to Isla Mujeres (Spanish for Island of Women). It’s very common to see turtles here as well as lots of other colorful reef fish and sea life. The Underwater Museum of Art (MUSA) consists of two main locations. The deeper section is great for diving while the shallower part is great for non-divers and snorkelers. During your MUSA dive, see over 450 life-sized statues which are now covered with algae and the coral reef. This man-made reef attracts all kinds of underwater life: the crevices of the sculptures provide great hiding places for fish to breed and inhabit.

What people are saying about Cancún Underwater Museum

From the moment we walked in the door at AquaWorld, we were impressed and had a great time! I highly recommend AquaWorld for all of your water sports fun! We were treated with the upmost respect and the whole crew was very professional. We will definitely make reservations with AquaWorld for some snorkeling during our next trip to Cancun!!!

Well organized, even if you have to plan more time. We had to wait an hour on a water platform for our boat to bring us back. The figures are super exciting and the water is shallow. Very good price-performance ratio.

Amazing experience and flexible to let us to the reef till the next boat leave and to change the date I book

The tour was amazing, however the duration was listed incorrectly on the portal.
