  • Sail through the maze-like channels of a mangrove
  • Stop at two snorkeling spots
Full description
Start your adventure with a 40-minute ride on a small speed boat, which will bring you close to Cabo Catoche, at the northern tip of the Yucatan Peninsula. Your guide will highlight the unique plant and animal life found here and outline the rich history of the region, looking back to the times when the conquistadors and pirates roamed these waters. You will witness vast flocks of pink flamingos and many other bird species.  Then, explore a maze of channels through a mangrove, all with abundant flora and fauna. Next, walk 5 minutes through the jungle to reach the very first church built in Latin America. The building is covered with trees and there is also a small cemetery hidden by vegetation. On your way back, you will stop at two snorkeling spots, where colorful fish swim by an old shipwreck and coral formations. You will continue to a sandbank with endless shallow water. Stop to enjoy the scenery and take pictures, before returning to the starting point.
