    1. From Ardales: Half-Day Excursion to the Caminito del Rey

Discover a landscape of extraordinary beauty just north of Málaga on a half-day excursion to the walkway of the Caminito del Rey. Encounter a footbridge over 3 kilometers in length, built on the walls of the Gaitanes Gorge (Desfiladero de los Gaitanes). Experience one of the most beautiful natural enclaves in the province at a canyon excavated by the River Guadalhorce. During some stretches, the incredible route reaches heights of up to 105 meters. Although the best-known stretch of the route is the footbridge, the total journey of the Caminito del Rey is 7.7 kilometers. You have to arrive at the start of the path by foot to follow the linear path in a single direction descending from north to south. Join a Spanish-speaking guide who will accompany you throughout the tour, and hear anecdotes and learn all the curiosities surrounding the incredible location and construction of the walkw...

A little disorganized when you get there as to where to go on the road leading to the Kiosk, but we just asked the closest guide for the tour ahead of us who told us to wait for the English speaking guide. Our guide, Carlos, was very informative and had been doing this for 13 years so he knew a lot and had great information. This tour was strenuous at times and got so bring water and even a small snack to keep up your energy. Not recommended for anyone fearful of heights or anyone who can’t keep up with walking, in a wheelchair or kids. But, it was the most amazing experience- almost like a Spanish Grand Canyon! Totally exhilarating and highly recommended!

Enjoy this tour so much. Our guide was nice lady, told us many informations during the whole tour. We get these radios so we heard all she said and we was able to stop and take pictures or just enjoy view at the same time. No need to hurry up. Views and overall experience are 5/5 for me. Definitely worth the money.

  • From Ardales: Caminito del Rey Guided Tour

    3. From Ardales: Caminito del Rey Guided Tour

In the heart of the province of Málaga, and within the Los Gaitanes Gorge Natural Site, you will find the impressive gorge formed by the Guadalhorce River when crossing the limestones of the Sierra Huma. Vertical walls of 300 meters tall make a spectacular photograph in a unique environment.  The route is linear and begins at the North Access in the Ardales area and ends at the South Access in the Álora area. The route is 8 kilometers and approximately 4 kilometers is access and exit trails and approximately 3.5 kilometers is the Caminito del Rey route. The Caminito del Rey is divided between the first section of 600 meters of footbridges in the first gorge and 1.5 kilometers of forest trails called the Valle del Hoyo and the second section of 900 meters of footbridges in the second gorge, which is where the balcony with the glass floor and the suspension bridge over the river are.

An excellent experience made even better by the lovely Guide, Amanda. Highly recommend it and this company, well organised and easy.

Thought I was not going to get on this very popular tour but found a ticket with GetYourGuide. Excellent experience with tour guide Vivian who effortlessly switched between four languages. Driver Paco was punctual and safe. The tour itself was spectacular, well worth the ticket price with its unforgettable views.

  • From Costa del Sol or Malaga: Caminito del Rey with Tapas

    5. From Costa del Sol or Malaga: Caminito del Rey with Tapas

Start your day with pick-up at different points of the Costa del Sol or Malaga and depart for Ardales. Stop for breakfast (not included) along the way at a local restaurant with plenty of typical local products. Finally, arrive at the northern access point of the Caminito del Rey. The group will then walk through a small and quite long tunnel to reach the natural paths that leads to the entrance check point of the Gorges. At that point, you'll receive a helmet together with the safety instructions. Your guide will also join you to give you further explanations of what will be found during the trek but also many hints about the history of this peculiar construction. The Gorge, called Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, is a natural pass across the hills that separate the Malaga coast line from the inlands. The River Guadalhorce flows at the bottom of the gorges, after having passed through the...

This was a beautiful walk with astonishing views. Our guide, Maria, was very enthusiastic and gave us very interesting background information. Afterwards we also walked from the back of El Kiosko to the start of El Caminito, which is also a beautiful walk.

Maria is the best guide I’ve ever met. She explained us everything about this path. Thanks for the drinks in the end. Everything was great. Kacper&Paulina
